Primarily correspondence relating to the preservation of Old Stone Fort, near Manchester, Tennessee. Also includes correspondence, clippings, and a photograph relating to efforts by Waldrip and the Tennessee Archaeological Society to secure legislation ensuring recognition and protection of Tennessee's archaeological sites as well as creation of a division of archaeology, a state archaeologist, and a state archaeology advisory commission. Correspondents include William L. Barry, Lloyd Chapman, Frank G. Clement, Walter L. Criley, Buford Ellington, Alfred K. Gothe, Edward F. Jones, Clyde Keeler, Stephen S. Lawrence, David W. Shields III, and Thomas A. Wiseman, Jr. A typed transcript made by Waldrip of the 1813 diary of Isaac Conger, a Methodist circuit rider, is also included.
